Are you going to get drunk on New Year's Eve?

I had one glass of champagne (earlier that evening) which didn't get me drunk, so no. I drank Ramune (a Japanese soft drink) at midnight instead of alcohol...

I have to be in work at 4am on new years day, even if I didn't have to go to work, I would only have a shot of whiskey as I don't like being drunk or the morning after feeling

I don't drink and also m legally too young to drink.

I stay home where it's safe and besides I don't drink

no I haven't drank in many many years and I don't miss it at all!

that's the only day I don't drink and drive...cause all the amateurs are out there and they can't drive drunk, like us professionals can who do it every day

I'll be sober on New Years eve. I don't like getting up the next day with a hangover.

Gotta drive. I'll have a glass of wine or two but ONLY if we are there for a sufficient duration (general rule of thumb would be 2 hours) but that's it. I'm a 190lb 43 year old male so that is well within reasonable limits and guidelines.

I really doubt I will this year. I spent the last 4 New Years Eves with my best friends and ,even though I typically don't drink much, got drunk each time. They let anyone who drank crash at their place and some of us would stay and hang out the whole New Years Day, so it was always safe. I moved this year and can't make it out to their place, so I'm really going to miss spending New Years with them.
This year, I might be going to my sis-in-law's. Her teenage neighbors are going to hold a spot for the Rose Parade and we'll be bringing them things they might need (like snacks and waters) and filling in for them if they want a break. She lives right off of the parade route, so she does that every year and it might be fun. I've never caught the Rose Parade in person, so I should probably do that at least one year since I live near it. Can't picture myself getting drunk, since it'll be an all-nighter and I don't need a hangover during the parade.

Maybe I should point out that I never really get "drunk" anymore (did enough of that as a teen), but have gotten really tipsy on recent New Years'. I hate getting to the point where I'm not really myself and there are 2 of everyone else. Besides, I'm trying to hang on to as many brain cells as possible. I don't plan to even get tipsy this year but might enjoy 1 or 2 glasses of wine or something.
btw, have a happy and safe New Years Eve tomorrow. :)

For several reasons: 1) I don't understand the reasoning behind PURPOSLY rendering yourself INCAPABLE of making a reasoned decision! 2) I don't see ANY significant difference in the calendar phenomena of the year date turning over 3) I don't drink ALCOHOLIC beverages!

Good job. I'm going on 10 years and I'm loving it. At first I missed drinking because everybody I knew drank and I felt like the odd one, but after a while I really began to appreciate not having a hangover. I don't miss that one bit :)

That's encouraging to hear . . . I am going for forever sober. I feel so much more healthy and more focused. It's great to be actually living my life. I think I was sleep walking through it before. Happy New Year . . .
