The only reason I have an acct. .to keep up with them and grandson. Afterwards I regretted it because it seems like everyone I ever knew came crawling out of the woodwork! People I hardly knew in school (30 yrs ago), its like they see your from that school, and suddenly their your best friends! I. Don't. Think. So. I also hate that "you have mutual friends with so and so" crap. And the alerts for updated status.."just went to the bathroom. ..just got back from bathroom. .getting something to eat...just ate so and so..WITH KETCHUP" utterly ridiculous.

nope. they have accounts but I dont and wont use facebook...

I suppose when the time comes when my kids decide to leave the nest--- IF they move far far away I MIGHT use it to stay closer in touch.... I really think that is the only thing that FB is good for--- staying in touch with fam and friends that have moved away or are otherwise too busy to visit often.

Otherwise its just another invention thats dumbing down our society - I dont need to know every single "move" that other people are making with their lives- I have my own life to live.

Kids No! Grandkids, Absolutely, even though these teens live just blocks away. We even text each other at times across restaurant tables and they are so fast that I can hardly get mine sent. I can hardly believe the transition in just this past year. A little lady almost too big to jump on Grampa and wrestle and a bit of a beard showing on a young man in ROTC

i post adult things on facebook and as such dont allow my daughter to be my "friend", however i have full access to her account to make sure that nothing inappropriate is happening...i have already shut her down on other sites, and warned her that she needs to be wary of certain types of people that will try to be her friend...that and i really can do without the ex drama of her mother and her mothers side of the family!
