There was always some bits of disorganization around the house when I was raising the children (trust me .. kids can definitely disorganize even the best organized house in an INSTANT!) Nowadays .. I'm going room by room and working my way through the house (to figure out things to donate and/or give away/toss .. ) It's definitely quite a lot of work -- especially since the Adult Children seem to think that my home is their storage site .. I need my space back .. time for them to take care of their own junk! (especially since I'm now BLIND .. and need clear paths to every part of my home)
Try hard, but never really get there - you know - to that perfect clutter free place that i yearn to have... can't quite get the hang of being "paperless," so please send me suggestions!
I got to much stuff. I decided to throw away anything I`ve had more than 10 yr. I need to do it again. My books are my biggest frustration. No place to put them. They are stacked on work benches, around my milling mach., in lockers, in the basement, the attic a closed in porch. Even one of the closets. Making me cwazy , auggggggg!
I'm so frustrated by my closet that I'm ready to hire someone to help me organize it. The problem is we all have too much stuff. We all need to scale down and minimize. I am happiest and most content when I go on vacation, stay in a small condo with just what I need for the period of time I will be there. It's luxury to not be overwhelmed by stuff.
I have to have it together. It's just me, keeping a bunch of plates spinning on poles at once. I'm not a freak about it by any means, but if I were disorganized, things would be way too complicated to manage.
There's a stereotype that people with OCD are hyper-organized. It ain't necessarily so. I end up getting bogged down in where to put things and becoming over-stressed about throwing things out. Because my mind wants everything to be perfect, nothing is ever good enough. Or I think I've found the perfect place to put something only to be unable to find it later.
