Are you concerned at all about the swine flu?

I think there is a lot of hoopla about something that is really nothing to worry about.
It seems like every time you turn around, they are trying to make us afraid of something...global warming, a pandemic, etc.
There is such a thing as crying wolf too many times.

its basically a different form of the old flu. the government just wants more of our MONEY for the vaccine. its kinda like a white lie to them. (>_<)

I'm as someone else said, more concerned that I'm going to have to get a jab! I don't like needles, but I'm okay with swine flu.

I own a daycare center, so I am a little concerned about ANY flu. Life sucks when you've got a boatload of whiney crying little people running around. As far as the swine flu (H1N1) is concerned, I'm not really more concerned about it than the normal flus that come through. The only difference with this flu is, unless you're like 90 years old, you have never been exposed to it, so have no resistance to it. I am very leary of the vaccine and won't be getting it, as the stuff I've read about it lead me to believe that it may be worse for you than the actual flu.

(edit) Now I have read that you will need to get the vaccine twice for it to have any affect at all. It gets better and better....

I can't really see where it's any different from any other type of flu. From the CDC and Emedicine:

Not really, eventually there will be a vaccination. I am usually a heathly person. Well right now I am sick. But it isn't the swine flu. I get sick badly once every like 3 years.

I don't know what to do about it..

Because, I am already at risk because I am a transpant patient .
The medication drops my immune system to fight rejection that makes it easier for people like me at risk for everything . Please wash your hands people .

I know friends that have already had swine and recovered in perfect health, but I hear people who take the vaccine aren't quite as fortunate.

I'm concerned about any inoculation this GOV. wants to push on us!!!!!

My parents tried to tell me how dangerous the swine flu was and how it was killing young people. I am surrounded by Mexicans all day long and have not caught it..... I don't understand all this hype.

As long as well all take the normal precautions, we should all be fine.

So far this horrible pandemic hasn't taken nearly the same amount of lives as the regular flu -- which we all ignore anyway.

I am neither more concerned about this strain nor less concerned about it compared to any other strain of influenza. Each and every one of them can kill people, fortunately our bodies are usually able to fend it off fairly well.

Yes, even if you feel that it might not affect you, there's a possibility of someone you know or a family member that could be affected. It is definitely a concern.

I'm More Concerned About My Friends Who Have Breathing Problems etc.

Nope. The government is having this whiney about swine flu but the thing is, it's not as dangerous as it appears. Don't believe me? Think about this: regular flu kills more people world wide in a single year than swine flu has put people in hospital.
