Are you better in communicating orally or through writing/typing?

For some odd reason, I can't say most of the things I want to say when I'm face to face with a person. It's been this way for quite some time. Yes, I'm working on it, but I'd rather just write a letter.

So, what's your answer?

Well, both really but it's easier to make a mistake orally than in writing. Gosh how I wish i could proofread what I say sometimes!!!

I word things so perfectly in my head. The instant my fingers touch a keyboard, most of what I was going to say gets forgotten. Speaking, I look at someone thinking 'this will be great' and it stutters out. Stage fright? ...guh.

I can do both, but I prefer to type because I can go over my words and edit for content or meaning before I send it off. Can't edit something you've already said that may have come out not quite right.

Writing is easier because we can edit as we go and return to do even more. IF we willing to retract our statements or to abridge them, speaking is much the same. ( But most people lack the ego strength to retract what they've said.) The more you are solid in your beliefs, the more consistent you will be in what you say and speaking will get easier.

I do alright orally but I'm really much better writing because I can stop and think and sometimes look something up. Sometimes I want to use a word that I just can't think of immediately and then it comes to me. I'm always thinking of what I should have said or how I could have said it better. Reading what I've written and sometimes revising is much better than what I spit out of my mouth!
