I have been for as long as I can remember. my (now ex) husband is hispanic (puerto rican to be exact) and is COMPLETELY against it for some reason. I think it's selfish to keep organs that could benefit another living person. But, then again my ex is exponentially selfish (that's why he's an ex LOL)
99% of the time that is not how it works. A completely separate group of people deal with the organ donating and paperwork that is required from the surviving family members. I'm sure there may be a doctor or two who has found a way to be shifty but you shouldn't punish others (by not donating, a person suffers greatly) on the small chance.
Or rather, I WILL be once I die. My late husband donated eyes, bone, joint tissue, skin. Kidneys and heart were worn out, causing his death. I like to think there are people today who have benefited from his death. And the Tissue Bank was so wonderful to me, and actually helped me with my grief. Donating self isn't gruesome. It is beautiful.
Yes, and I have been one since the age of sixteen. I didnt even need to be inspired by Jon-Erik Hexum the 1st high profile organ donor besides Jesus.Hexum was talented and sexy in my opinon though.
plus half a kidney so.....My organs would be of no use once I'm gone
I am not concerned about an afterlife since a diety who created me can provide any needed replacement parts.
