Tools needed: large sack, thick gloves, ...rake. First turn on CD of ABBA's 'Dancing Queen' very loudly...then hold "Blackie" down with the rake, firmly. Then with gloved hands, grab him by the head, firmly. While the screaming wife holds open the large sack, place entire body into sack first. Once body is fully inside, release head, seal sack opening with a lil twist. Place sack into cooler container. Drive out to the deep woods in total fear. Once there, with container lid completely loose...tip over and dump entire 'Blackie' bag, Then on shaky legs, jump back into truck and burn rubber outta there!.....

LOVE snakes...i caught one after birds had attacked it & it never bite me or anything i just tried to help him....he died before the wild life people could get to the house....i am going to buy a snake when the spare room is set up....

When I was 16, 17, and 18, I used to catch rattlesnakes and copperhead and milk them into a baby food jar (each to it's own mind you, mixing them wouldn't have done any good for anyone) and sell it at the hospital so they could make antivenin with it.

You're black snake isn't a problem, it won't bite you, it's not poisonous, and if it's small it eats moles and small mice, when it gets bigger it will be able to handle rats... Blackie's actually a friend to you... Good luck though, My mom was terrified of them.

Thanks to all of you who answered my question. But....I think the ABBA music might just work. Considering any self respecting snake in this day and age is into rap music and ABBA would drive them nuts. Special thanks to Dave....who hit it right on the nail

I was born on the bayou,and raised in the woods of Tejas!I've had a healthy respect for all living creatures!And caught,sold and owned pet snakes!Ya can take the girl out of the country,but ya can't take the country outta the girl!LOL

Well you can understand being in Australia brown and black "aka red belly black"snakes are common but I seen them all at my house green tree snake, tiger snake and diamond python eeekkkk outside is so dangerous

If I see snakes over there, they don't bother me. If I see them under my feet, I freak out. As far as your black snake, leave it alone. It's probably a King Snake, which eat poisonous snakes. If you have a problem with poisonous snakes, get some barn cats for your shed. They'll kill those snakes.

Never have been afraid of snakes, and like them, actually. There are some scary snakes, but they are far out numbered, by the many species of snakes who are no threat to humans, or "pets".

Not since I investigated and wrote mybook on Comparison between snakes and humans that virtually proves the Biblical account of Adam and Eve!ha HA HAHA!
Oddly enough it's called 'TWO BIRDS ...ONE STONE!'
That book might well help you with your snake problem! ;)

Snakes serve a purpose in the scheme of nature. If you kill that black snake you'd better get ready for rats and mice.
