Not actually the height itself but the distance I have to fall does tend to worry me some
especially since I´m overweight so I´m worried that I fall on someone(poor schmuck) or just simply make a BIG and DEEP hole in the ground!
Depends...
Going up high and being up high I don't mind....
It's the coming down part that scares the beegeezes out of me. ; )
Especially when coming down involves a tall ladder.... UGH!!!
I don't have many fears. Acrophobia is the fear of heights, not to be confused with Aerophobia, the fear of flying. Either way, my answer is no. The higher the better for me, and I love to fly! I love this commercial and the parody. You've probably seem them before but in case you haven't enjoy!
Sometimes. Depends on what I am doing. I played in treehouses as a kid and heights never bothered me. I helped put on a metal warehouse roof in Alaska and it didn't bother me, but I was too busy to notice I guess....
As an electrician in a large steel mill, I spent about 30 years working on overhead cranes and overhead lighting. I've also been up over 100 feet in bucket trucks.
Yes I am. Deathly afraid of heights, the higher it is the worse it is for me. Riding in a car in the mountains I can't look down into the canyons, and if the cliff side going down is on my side of the car I white knuckle it, stare straight ahead, and have visions of crashing down the mountain. Its paniky for me. I hate it.
I love being up high ... I am cautious and do not go too near an edge but I love being up in the clouds in a plane or other flying devise... my favorite flight was in this....
YES!!! Very much so. I wish I weren't, but I am, and the fear has gotten worse the older I get. Years ago I was somewhat afraid but did ok driving, which was good because I lived in California and drove over the Golden Gate bridge countless times. I always drove in the middle lane and looked straight ahead. I also drove over the Delaware Memorial bridge and was alright. A few years back my car stalled on the highest part of the expressway here in Florida and I had to stay there and wait for my husband to come and get me. Well, if you are aware that to make bridges aerodynamically sound, they move. So as other cars whizzed by me I realized the bridge was moving and by the time my hubby arrived, my hands were clenched to the steering wheel so tightly that he had to pry them away. I was in shock and he had to carry me to his car. ( He had a tow truck pick up the vehicle that was the problem.) Anyhow, ever since then I will only drive in town and not over any bridges or high areas as I totally panic and go into freeze mode. It is awful!! I could conquer the fear.
While in the Navy, taking care of the windbirds was one of my duties so I got to climb our ship's(FF10XX) mast about once a month for pm's, afew times while we were underway even, it was awesome..
I can go up and down high ladders with no fear. However, when I was in the marines doing mountain warfare training in South Korea.Going across a valley on two ropes 120 feet in the air made me a little nervous
People I know who are acrophobic say they feel a pull like they'll be "sucked over the edge."
