I honestly love both equally, but think when it comes to which to own, it's all about lifestyle. I think dogs are better companions emotionally, which also makes them very needy. Cats on the other hand are quite independent animals. As long as I keep up with my end of the deal (food, water, liter box) he's happy. Having a cat better allows me to come and go as I please without having to worrying about "letting the dog out". Plus I find dogs get lonely really easily. While my cat only seems to want my attention when I'm on the couch or in bed. He would much rather be on an adventure somewhere in the house.
Igot "adopted by two cats not long-ago.. "Zoby" an ol' kitten-female kitty, looks like a Lil' Panda-bear cat... MrEgbert isa fixed-tomcat "big tiger" buddy-type o' cat.. Both are funny cat-clowns, purr-alot when with Me, and dig havin' some tuna when I get up... I am still missin' my ol' dogs, though...a German Shepard and a "Rust-colored) Dobie, both females, both, especially my Dobie "Linka," very loyal, funny, goofy and protective.. So it looks , to me that truly, I "LIKE" Dogs & Cats, Yup! So? WTF, "over."

I like cats because their easy to take care of. Not hatin on dogs tho,I had a dog when I was growin up. She was awesome! But now a dog is too much maintenance for me
Cats are more like humans. They'd rather be pleased than to please everyone else. Dogs beg humans for attention while cats give one the privilege to pet them. I love both dogs and cats, but I understand cats much better.
Why do I have to pick one? I am an animal person.
