You've seen them EVERYWHERE. Maniacs (usually self-important narcissists or anti-social / socially-retarded idiots who can only communicate through text) who act like they couldn't possibly live 30 minutes without their cell phones.
Who are they? Possessed people who exhibit these unmistakable characteristics:
1. Undisciplined people who can't even get through a 45-minute meal without sending/checking for a text message.
2. Inconsiderate fools (usually younger people) who feel they MUST bring their damned cell phone into the movie theater and check messages during previews and the movie.
3. Church-goers (those taken to church by Christians) who, apparently, can't even give God 90 minutes of dedicated time each week (these are the disrupters who pull out their damned cell phones in church) without checking with their cell phones first.
4. Those who refuse to turn cell phones off while they sleep at night and wake up EVERY time a new text message is received.
There are other identifying traits of these undisciplined, cell phone slaves which reveal their enslavement to their phones. Are YOU one of them? How do YOU feel about them?

No! A cell phone or blackberry will NEVER control me!+2It's just a way to communicate. It seems today people think they are so important that they need to be contacted wherever they go. They take cell phones and lap tops with them while shopping, at the beach and on vacations so they can keep in touch with their office or worse do work while they are away. My cell phone is used for emergencies and long distance calling only, other than that it is turned off! Get A Life it's way too short to be a slave to other people, anyway I thought Lincoln took care of that a long time ago.

It was a very expensive(to me) Christmas "gift."
I ditched mine about 3 years ago...
I had to have constant communication because of work, family, life's... stuff. When all of that changed, I had really no need to be constantly in touch with everyone.
It's been a big change, but one that let me find "me" again and that's sometimes is really hard to find...
My new "Celly" is not man made need, it''s "natural"...
The horses talk, my doggies talk, the rest of the critters let me know what they're doing, the grass let''s me know when it needs attention... and folks just drop by to visit. It's much better than before!
Question(s) back...
Do you have a cell phone?
Why do you have it?
How does it effect your life?
Why is your post angry?
Answer all... and you'll find your answer.
Cheers... YT
I use my phone, but no where near in excess.
I do believe they are good to have around. I personally feel better when my teenager is out with his friends, knowing I can make contact at any time.
Now drivers on the other hand. That is a different story. I am so sick and tired of yeilding to another driver because they are yapping on the phone, engrossed in such deep conversation that they have no regard for any of the drivers around them. Get the hell off the damn phone and pay attention to how and where you are driving!!!!
I text. Not too often, and never when I'm behind the wheel. I guess overall you could say I'm an average cell phone user. I've never been one to spend an endless amount of time talking on the phone anyway, but God forbid I walk out of my house without it. I mean, what would happen if I broke down on the side of the road. ( smile )
