Under the context that "no generalization exists of an entire gender which actively or unconditionally describes the personality characteristics of it's members." OR "No two people are the same." However selfish men exist, so by logic selfish women exist. If it is in direct proportion it is impossible to know. Or what counts culturally as selfish here may not be considered selfish elsewhere. Too many variables. Good question though, lots to think about.
You needed an "other" choice, because, even if we generalize, it depends on the topic. Historically the deep thinkers have been men, but they've been more free to do so. Women are proving, in our modern age with more freedoms, of equally profound thought.
Historically, women have never been allowed to be published. So, it may look as though women were not deed thinkers because they were not allowed to be educated or write.
That does not mean they did not do it or were not capable of it either.
We'll have to agree to disagree. The roles of the 2 genders have evolved differently for biological reasons. Chauvinism was mostly the result of size differences, but women have always been emotionally more bound to children. “Society is founded not on the ideals but on the nature of man…” From The Lessons of History by the Durants.
If you think that women are more emotionally bound to their child, you need to start telling that to men as most of them would disagree with you. That kind of thinking went out years ago.
I thing you need to take a reality check on parenting today. Men are genetically bound to their children in exactly the same way mother are. Apparently you have missed several classes in biology.
If "Men are genetically bound to their children in EXACTLY the same way mother are" they should have breasts. It's easier to be factual if you avoid superlatives.
You'll hit a 'sweet spot' when your biological clock starts racing... in a dozen years or so. Then, you'll start appreciating inner beauty. And all that nonsense. :O)
I'm adopting :) I'm too shallow to give birth. I'm keeping the boobs standing upright as long as possible. Heck, I don't even know if I'm adopting. That would require a lot of my time being devoted to someone other than me.
That does not mean they did not do it or were not capable of it either.
You do not have to breast feed to be a biological parent. Many women do not breast feed.
"Those who argue are confused." Tao Ti Ching
So that's something to look forward to. :O)
