Are the works of Shakespeare still relevant to today's society?

Many critics say that Shakespeare's works are not relevant to society today because the language he used is aged and the apparently the story lines are.. well, no longer relevant.
What do you think???

(I actually had to do an essay on this topic in my Literature & Society class the other week :p)

It should be revelant but it's not. Today's shallow culture is more interested in sex, drugs and dumb reality shows.

The language may be archaic, but the underlying truths about human nature are still very relevant. Styles of dress, manners of speech, and technology all change human nature doesn't.

I think these works are still very relevant to today's world. I mean, look and Romeo and Juliet, star crossed teen lovers. How often do we see that today. and there are many, many more.

ohh hard one. i'd have to say either The Taming Of The Shrew or A Midsummer Night's Dream. his comedies are the best! haha, out of curiosity, what do you like best? :)
