Are people who eat meat more likely to shove their opinions down a vegan's throat rather than the other way around?

I always hear people say how pushy veg people are. But really, from my experience I noticed it's the other way around.

I always have someone telling me how they can never do it, or they think it's unhealthy, and make "bacon" jokes. And the only time I ever mention anything veg-related is if the topic ever comes up.

This is just a thought and don't shot me please. In my experience any person who pushes his opinion down some other persons throat has a problem with said opinion otherwise why try and push so much.
As for eating meat I do, and I feel bad about doing it because deep down I know it to be wrong.
But I enjoy it, I like it and I don't have the backbone to stand on principal and stop eating it.
I admire those who don't eat animals.

My No is my personal answer, as a meat eater I honestly can say, I could care less what other folks eat or don't.

    i don't know of anyone...
    advocating...
    the forced consumption of meat-

or desiring to deny others the eating of veggies-

It's about shoving *opinions* down another person's throat-- not food. Look at any PETA related thread here, and you'll see a lot of them. Like something off the Jerry Springer show.

talk about a hackneyed phrase that makes no sense-

which end do you grab an opinion by...
    before shoving???

I quoted the question at the top of the page. Maybe this is why it seems hackneyed to you.

THAT SAID, let's try "forced consumption of opinions" to make it simpler.

    still makes no sense-

    i say hackneyed...because it is...
and not simply my take from one instance-

Don't people 'digest' information? Isn't information available for public consumption?

there is no force occurring there-

It's implied by the passive metaphors. "They expect us to swallow the crap they force feed us on the news every day..."

the only ones employing the metaphors...
    are those with ...
    phony victim drama syndrome-

    those claiming force ...
    where none exists-

Ah... so you're concerned with the actors, rather than the script.

I think it's a pretty fair assessment, given that the essence of the thing is more about agitation than victimization. I don't think the person who posted this poll actually feels violated... not any more than those who lash out at PETA advocates for irritating them with their anti-meat rhetoric.

my intent was to highlight ...
    the false victimhood...
    in uttering ...
    the "shove down throat" phraseology-

I see that, now. But the 'shoving down the throat' metaphor ain't far off, anymore. Maybe 'waving it in one's face' is more palatable.

So you see vegetarians as the type who plays victim pretty often?
  • rocat sockpuppet 2012/07/21 03:53:47

    waving...yes...
a far more apt turn of phrase-

can't say i see all vegans thus-
but certainly the more vocal faction-

tho this is true of far more than vegan types-

we see it in both sides...
    of the false political dichotomy-
    performing roles as trained-

    pavlovian slobberers-

I remember now. You advocate voting for chocolate or Jupiter instead of the two guys who are vying for office. Never could see the sense in that. :O)

This isn't a yes or no question it's more like there are idiots in both groups, to say one is more likely then the other is stupid as both groups are made up of humans who tend to act like idiots most the time when it comes to differences between eachother.

No... I know the meat-eating morons referred to here. They're hillbilly half-wits who think it's hilarious to try to 'offend' grownups who happen to be discussing vegetarianism. No comparison at all to veggies who criticize meat-eaters. They can be irritating, but even the worst among them is nothing like these other inbred imbeciles.

No I've met vegans who constantly whine about it like five year olds or insult ms just because I'm eating a burger only an idiot would think their side doesn't have idiots on it. Go troll elsewhere please.
