That depends on what they are trying to do. If the objective is to get elected, pretending to support everyone's opinions is very important. Ignoring opinions would be disastrous.

What some one else thinks about you is irrelevant, what matters is you opinion of your self.

If you never pay attention to anyone's opinion but your own, you will remain narrow-minded and probably will not learn as much as if you are willing to at least hear others out. And narrow-mindedness and lack of education do not lead to success in my opinion. However, standing your ground on certain beliefs is a good idea too, so giving into others' opinions all the time isn't the best idea either.

Opinions are like rectums. Everyone has one. There comes a time in a persons life when the individual must set goals and decide what they want in life. After they have done this, then must work hard to see that their goals come about.

You would help to be more focused....However some opinions may be helpful to you... It is figuring out which ones are helpful and which are not.

Yes I think so, because almost every situation that I have asked for others opinions in the past has ended up being not what I wanted in the future.

No. Having an open viewpoint allows for more options in whatever you're trying to accomplish.

To a degree. "To thine own self, be true." This makes for a happier individual, but to be "successful"; you have to do a certain amount of fitting in (and occasional ass kissing).

    Yes

One should stick to the truth and ignore the opinions of others. To continue to grow as an individual you should not allow your own opinions to hold you back. Opinions should constantly be changing like the waves in the ocean as one gathers knowledge.

Sheer ignorance never benefits anyone. To be open to opposing views and opinions is to open oneself to options.

To be able to weigh options and determine which to accept and which to discard is key.
