Both are important in the development of the child but, they both should have some degree of morality, not be druggies, or whores or whore mongers.

Coming from a family where my dad wasn't involved with me, I say yes. Im not worse off then someone who has grown up with both parents. If my mom was the one who left me with my dad I believe my life would be worse. But I think that's also taking into consideration the type of person he is.

No I don,t think so both can give love and gender does not decide the worth of love and nuturing that is given..although I never had a dad but have known some and had the pleasure of seeing it personally with their children.

Each parent brings important things to their child. My daughter missed the love of her dad when he vanished.

When the child is born, he/she has a stronger relationship with his/her mother. But, when he/she gets older, the child-father bond grows too.
None is more important to the child, for he/she needs both of his/her parents, and loves them the same.

No, kids have to have both parents or an equivilant (grandpa, uncle, etc). Now, kids tend to need their mothers more when very young and they need dad more when they're older. That's my observation anyway.

No! A child needs two parents, parents need two parents! It doesn't matter what configuration the two parents are. What matters is that a child has a loving and caring family that sits down to dinner every night, does things together and all be involved with each other.

No! Moms and Dads offer different experiences but both contribute to the future well being of the child. They need the young and yang of parenting.
