Are kids weaker than the kids growing up in the 80s?

DarkChild 2012/07/24 15:26:56
Kids do not go outside and play or ride bikes like they use to, they are always in the house and playing games, if a kid falls and have a bruise on his leg he is rushed to the hospital, back in the 80s and 70s if we fall out of a tree or off the porch your mom kissed your womb and your dad said get back out there son
You!

My kids play outside! If the sun's out, so are we. And the only time my kids have been taken to hospital is if they're genuinely very sick or if they get a head injury (luckily this has only happened twice!) Scraped knees, bruises and torn clothes are all part of the adventure of growing up.

This is an old and outdated argument that has been going on for thousands of years that never amounts to anything.

"The children now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for
authority, they show disrespect to their elders.... They no longer
rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents,
chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their
legs, and are tyrants over their teachers."

Yea it's kinda easy to see just think about what your parents generation thought of yours and their parents generation thought of them.

On average, yes, because they're less fit, a trend that needs to be reversed.

Yup, nowadays if you get your kid to mow the lawn its child labor, discipline is now child abuse, the list goes on. Now the correct way of parenting is actually the correct way of destroying them as well.
