    Yes, it is inevitable
It is a natural process for humans to be judgmental. Every aspect of our lives is about making judgements. What foods we like and don't like, what colours suit our moods, which people compliment our friendship needs, what job do we want to work at, how much salary will we work for, are we religious or atheist,......Every thought, every utterance is a choice and every choice equates to being a judgment on how and who we live our lives..

If it truly is a natural trait then possibly we shouldn't get so annoyed when it is done since we'll never be able to stop.

Absolutely they are judgmental. It is inherent to judge for understanding. Humans need an identifier or label as a coping mechanism as well as security measure. We do not fear things we understand, So being judgmental, can be both a good and bad trait, depending on your bias.

I think so. While there are many free spirits who don't give a flying fig about what others think, there seem to be more who are always guaging their own existence by what others do and expect.... how they live, dress, what they drive, how much money they make. What is with all these women who need a fancy hand bag to identify them? Men are just as bad.

Have you ever seen a statue erected honoring a group? Me neither. It's always an individual who made his/her mark on her own. The President recently spoke at a new memorial honoring Rosa Parks. Little did she know she would be a hero for being sick and tired of someone telling her where she could sit , after working all day and being sck and tired.

The word "judgmental" has a negative connotation which we usually associate with someone who is too critical.

However making judgements of others and situations is part of the process of learning and survival.

For example standing close to the edge of a crumbling cliff or jumping out of a third floor window maybe judged as too dangerous!

That is sociology. By judging we learn how to interact with those around us.

We are always judging someone for something, it's how we are !!!

If choice was nature (in this case taken as inherently born that way) then the answer would be yes. Choice comes later. As we mature we get more choices. So you actually are choosing to be judgmental. When I judge something I am choosing to do so. It is hard as hell not to be judgmental so I can see why some may think it's by nature and we are inherently born to be that way.

I know most of you voted yes....and i would have to. However i constantly change my behavior so i know for myself change is possible. Everything we do in life is a choice..if we give the excuse that we saw a man dive from a cliff and we do it to...we are a follower instead of a leader...just like if we chose to call people names. We are human beings and can think for ourselves...or at least some of us can...being prone to bad behavior doesn't mean we have to follow through with it.
We all have been given a brain and its up to us to make sure we use it to accomplish good things. However winning and doing things we know is wrong. That is uncalled for.

We can't stop it, everyday, every moment. But we must get rid of that habit. Judging people is bad. And prejudice a lot more. People have a tendency to "label" other people, on their behaviour, studies or religion. However, we must know that judging is something natural for us. But when it comes to people and too words, we SHOULD or MUST judge but in a way which is wise, mature and good for others.

I agree that as humans we "judge" things, or I prefer, we observe and make educated choices or decisions based on previous experiences or situations. Which to me is different from being judgemental. What I don't agree with is making assumptions about entire groups of people based off limited knowledge of a few or condemning others whose beliefs are different than your own.

Animals must be judgmental. Without being judgmental, animals would mate and a non-dominant gene-pool would be created. If we, or other species, weren't judgmental, we would still be living in caves.
