Is it too old to shave? No? Then it's not too old to wax. What's with the stigma against waxing? The only way it's different from shaving is it lasts longer and is a bit painful...

I don't think they would. Waxing anyone under the age of 17 is considered fondling a minor under most state laws.

I understand your point, but with parental consent and the fact that you ARE PAYING FOR A SERVICE, I'm pretty sure these girls can go 'Powder bald' if they wish.

    Powder......what weird movie.

really? what parent signs off on that? -___-

The kind of parent that wishes for their daughter to be comfortable. Again, you are all confusing this as a sex matter when it's not.

I never said it was a sex matter. I don't know where you're getting the "again" from. I think it would be an ignorant parent who doesn't know what that hair is for, and thinks it's okay to sign off on. Mammals have really fascinating patterns of body hair, and that body hair traps pheromones. It also keeps glands protected. Those hairs are responsible for helping reproductive behaviors. It's important to protect them during reproductive development. Like the kind that women of that adolescent age group are undergoing.

Unless its for something like dance or a sport then I think shaving is just fine for now.

I started shaving my arm pits at 11 and my legs at 12. Waxing is no different than shaving other than it's more painful, results last longer, and it takes longer to do.

its basic grooming and there isnt anything provocative or sexy about it despite the comments of the peanut gallery. Same as me shaving me face i just dont want the beard and the girls just dont want the hair. Ive been shaving since 13.

Assuming we're not talking about Brazilian waxes.. 15 would be a bit too young for that to be necessary.

At first I thought it was too young, but then I realized that hair removal is hair removal, whether it's shaving or waxing, and I was shaving well before I was 15, so I have to vote yes.

It's no worse than shaving. If they want to, it's not going to cause any problems.

Jeez, at least wait until you actually have hair and enough time to form an opinion on it before ripping it out.

I started shaving when I was twelve. There was hair. I was (still am) a dancer. It looks gross. Don't you shave your legs? Waxing and shaving are both forms of hair removal.

I started shaving at about 14. I just feel like girls should first try less expensive, less painful, and less permanent methods and work their way up. That way they don't break the bank while trying to find what works best for them. Also it lets them grow comfortable with it. Don't get me wrong, I don't think badly of girls who start waxing early, and I kind of understand it. I hate having leg and pubic hair, but I'm glad I tried several methods before settling.

It's certainly safer than a razor, unless it's an electric one....I started shaving when I was 13,,,,that is often the norm, when we girls want to start to look nicer..

girls should want to do it as they wear skirts and sleeveless shirts... it would be embarrassing to be hairy and it lasts longer and when older the hair doesn't come in thick. I wish I had done it but i shaved!

Why should children be concerned with body hair? Girls should be focused on their school work, having fun and being kids not being appealing to men and society in general. Waxing is for women, personally I'd never pay for a child to get her body waxed unless she had hirsutism. I wonder how many people would support this if it were recommended for boys? I find this both depressing and disturbing. What is so horrible about body hair? If I had a daughter I'd only show her how to shave if she asked me to.

It's personal preference. I started shaving at 10 (I hung out with older girls)... totally my choice, my parents were actually kind of against it. I wasn't doing it for anyone but myself... I liked how my legs felt, all smooth. I don't see how waxing would have been any different.

I started waxing at 13 and I didn't shave until I was 16. Waxing was longer to do but it was easily more effective. But its hard to wax behind your legs if you're on your own and I got tired of asking someone to help out so I started shaving.

If you're not too young to shave your legs, you're not too young to wax. I was about 12, I think, and I had very fine, light hair.

I started shaving when I was 11. Waxing last way longer, what young girl wants hairy legs?
