i am dyslexic and i can help my son with his homework and i got all my grade in music and i am a carer for my husband i do every thing for him so if i was bumb wouldnot to care for my husband and help my son with home work from school or fix computers

(but then again .. so many assume just because I'm now Blind .. that I can't be independent, live alone, have my own thoughts, etc)

I am so often amazed at how little the human race has evolved in terms of understanding intellect & the senses. One of the brightest students in neurophysiology at uni was blind, she aced the degree & went on to get her doctorate. Ironically most of us don't see the forest for the trees coz we're blind to what we see everyday.

Just because your brain mixes up letters doesn't mean you are stupid. Stupidity can be helped, and for the most part is a choice, but dyslexia is not a choice, and is hard to over come. People who work through this and lead their lives not letting it bring them down should be congratulated. Not everyone can do that.

Not at all. Some are even smarter than students without a disability.
Having a disability doesn't make you stupid or dumb, it just complicates your life a little bit. But just because something's difficult doesn't mean it's impossible. Whoever said that is an ignorant fool.
