If Christians were able to take over America, it would be a much better place. Unfortunately it's the atheists, Muslims and "don't give a sh!t, give me something for free" people that are taking it over.
In fact I think the secular community is distorting the basic Christian belief to adapt to today's problem children that have no disciple to follow the way to live set down by Jesus Christ. I wish the true Christians could take over it would be a much better place to live.
I thought they did I know I will get raked for posting this but I think the raptor jesus memes are hysterical I AM very spiritual but I believe if Jesus saw them, he would laugh, god has a sense of humor
We as a nation kill infants before birth label it women's rights, lock murderer's in jail and make innocent tax payers provide care for them and call it the justice system, we combat hateful (and often violent) homophobes by granting gay marriage as opposed to enforcing the right of an individual to love who they wish and people think this country is being taken over by Christians? Funny.
ROFLMAO.... Are Christians taking over a Christian Nation?
Oh my. Are meat eaters in control of the the meat industry? Well yeah, without them the industry does not exist. LOL
Without Christians there is no America. It was born and based on Christianity.
You're partly correct but horribly misinformed, America is a secular republic yes but it was founded on values far from Greco-Roman pagan values easiest example we do not endorse infanticide a key value of pangs especially in ancient Greece and Rome. In actuality American values were founded upon Christian values. It is a Christian value for people to have the right to choose what they wish to believe and/or follow, it is a Christian value that we all have a right to freedom, it is a Christian value that we judge the accused fairly. Like turkey, America was founded using the good traits of specific religion without enforcing the specific religion. How much sense would it be for men who were mostly Christian to base a nation off pagan values.
When you say history do you mean human beings who were doing what human beings do (using anything to gain power) or the book said human being claimed to follow which has said and still says to treat others fairly.
no, rome did in fact convert, and I have to consider catholics christians still being they fit the basic requirements to be one. and besides, every brach of christianity does take from paganism due to taking local cultures and calling it part of their own.
What makes you think America is a Christian nation anymore? Abortion, prayer no longer in the schools, the attack of anything that points towards God not allowed on public property, etc.
They may 'identify' themselves as Christian.... but how many of them subscribe to the Bible thumping evangelists on tv..those with the 'dubious moral history'...Jesus did say "Love your neighbour"..but these guys take it way too literally... and their wealth which ensures a very long wait behind the camels at the gates of Paradise. If it was to be believed that almost 80% of Americans REALLY were Christians... anyone looking at America in a broad sense or reading the comments of 'so called' Christian Republicans on SH would have a case for suing them all for abuse of language. The 'success' of Christianity on a country is the impact it has on its behaviour, not on the % of people who highjack the individual description> Christian
Excellent point. It looks like 26.3% identify themselves as evangelists, and we can assume that it is a small(ish) subset of these who are causing the disharmony. Posts like yours are why I signed up for SH, enlightened discussion. Super rave for you!

also many founding fathers do happen to believe religion itself was messed up.
