But you ARE taking it out of context. Darwin fully understood the evolution of the eye and he knew it would be used against him so he fully explained it in his book.
some Christians i do believe are delusional. There was a time when christianity meant to bless the lives of those less fortunate but now a days it's more like bless my life for doing my duty to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are all delusional to a sense. We tend to prove to ourselves what we believe over and over again, wondering how anyone else can come to other conclusions. It's the nature of how we operate.
I think you could easily draw a line between those that believe based on repeatable evidence and a proven track record and those that believe based on blind faith. Don't you?
I would agree, but others will not and you will not convince them of it. And even in just tiny things, we are all slightly delusional. LOL I mean we sometimes just believe something because it brings comfort, and I'm not talking about religion, but it can be anything. There is not true logic to it, but that's what we think.
Yes, it does.. You just "know" something you had rammed down your throat as a child. I'm willing to wager that other than your belief system, you know nothing of any substance about others. I know, all you need to know is already known by you.
Exactly what I do! I don't do the religious thing. I use some logic where some find none. Logic tells me that there is no way man created the universe which operates in perfection. Logic tells me it is no accident either. Logic tells me SOMETHING had to have created the perfection we see everytime we open our eyes. It wasn't man, it wasn't science, it wasn't accident. So I believe someone far greater than you or I did it. We can call that being God, or something else. But we cannot deny logic.
The only difference is that your research and thoughts have shown that an established system exists that satisfies your hopes and needs with regard to God. That didn't occur with me; I investigated as many belief systems as I could and many came up short and some are downright silly. My system is basic, and best expressed by:
My apologies. I was referring to the Siddharta ( spelling??) quote. About not believing something Just because you have heard it. I would say that's good advice in ALL areas of life. In fact the bible says "test everything". I think even as a Christian that's what most people wind up doing if they are smart.
Yes, but I guess a lot of my fellow Christians haven't read that part yet, or just don't do it. I don't find it in anyway blasphemous since its biblical . I guess it's all in how you interpret it.
excuse me i did not have the bible rammed down my throat as you put it. when i got older i studied the bible a great deal on my own and did some biblical research. so dont tell me i dont know anything about God.
Please consider what Sid said so many years ago:

What ever invented time, I'll call God.
Thou art excused.
