Yes....

Children are blessing in relationships between husband and wife but not as the core value. People need to understand that children are gift from God. what matter is how you care about yourselves. I have seen many marriages breaking up whether there are/no children. what causes that is lack of misunderstanding because of poor communication. The most important thing in relationship is good communication and seeking God. Maker Deng Nyang

Not to me... I mean, if I HAD children, or was involved with someone who did, they'd be very important. I've always been perfectly satisfied to be part of a couple, no children required.

People can have a good relationship without children -- in fact, they can more easily enjoy their relationship by not having kids.

Unless, of course, either partner wants to fulfill an important obligation by having children

Well, in the first place it would depend on what the relationship is. Is it living together, friends, roommates, married? I think of the relationship as an entity unto itself. Problems beset relationships that have nothing to do with children, and if you have a lot of problems in the relationship, adding children could be a disaster. Children are a separate issue - they are not a part of the "relationship" per se. And they should come before any selfish desires of the relationship.
