I don't think beauty is out of style, but flaunting it as though it is the most important thing a woman has to all is out of style. And as for the little girl beauty pagents, those should be outlawed. They are pedophile magnets.

The only reason everyone says they are out of style is because everyone has lost any connection with tradition and values and stuff. I'm not saying that pageants are the best example of tradtion, but hell it's the U.S. what else should you expect? Back in the day people ate apple pie, didn't show their breast or full frontal nudity or anything like that because they weren't trash like our modernized culture.

But all of the women complaining are usually just jealous of the beauty and hard work these women put into themselves to look attractive.
Its no different than UFC fights where men beat each other silly to prove their manhood and women flock to these fights like crazy.
Another double standard for women.

I am as beautiful as one of them without working hard but I would never put my beauty on scale & sale . I don't need to get proved or need a trophy for that . Only women with nothing to do with their brains they try to do something with their looks . Pity for each one of us .

I think they’re fine.. In all honesty I wish they were more diverse though.
As they are I won’t really watch them. I see Barbie after plastic surgeried Barbie.
I’d like if it was.. Nartural.. And open to women of every shape, size, height, race, and age. Even men. And if judged on both inner and outer beauty.

puh-lease one word SHALLOW! i have been against pageants ever since i knew what pageants were!
oh and when did a woman with a slight imperfection ever win a pageant the only thing that pageants show is that ur soo incredibly ugly compared to those PERFECT girls and u will never be pretty!! never !! ppst SHALLOW!

These appeal still to a small segment of the American population, but these 'scholarship' competitons saw their heyday in the '60's through the 80's. They were already headed downhill by the '90's.

I think actually those two phrases don't matter, especially when I think what you're really asking is should they be acceptable, and yes they should. There will always be a subclass where the women predicate their self-worth on their looks and where the men are willing to look at them, and do other things as well.
