Some folks come around to the same old subject and can't move on or just can't get past their own racism. Does the confederate flag really matter?

Their b*tching and moaning and name-calling has accomplished nothing. I still fly my rebel flag beneath Old Glory and I don't give a d@mn what they think. Aren't there more important issues facing this country?

People need to get a life! This Flag is what ever the person flying it want to say it is! I fly an Australian Flag, but, I'm not from there, never been there, I just like their Flag. Same with the Scottish Flag, which doesn't mean I've been there, I just like their flag!

The only ones that complain are the ignorant.. The Confederate flag that people think about was a battle flag.. The war have been going on for some time, and the need for a flag that the generals could see to tell their troops from the enemy from a distance is what brought about the REBEL FLAG.. It had nothing to do with slavery..There was also the Bonnie Blue.. would they object to that one also......

generals troops enemy distance rebel flag slavery bonnie blue object

The First Official Flag of the Confederacy. Although less well known than the "Confederate Battle Flags",the Stars and Bars was used as the official flag of the Confederacy from March 1861 to May of 1863. The pattern and colors of this flag did not distinguish it sharply fom the Stars and Stripes of the Union. Consequently, considerable confusion was caused on the battlefield.

Thus they adopted the Battle flag

stars stripes union considerable confusion caused battlefield adopted battle flag

This was the flag of the west florida dragoons know as the Bonnie Blue..

If they want to revise history, well there is something they cant change,, not one slave was brought to this country on a Southern Ship.. Also the Northern slave owners of which some didnt release their slaves untill 5 years after the war.. Old Grant kept his wifes slaves for 5 years... There were more slaves traded under the Flag of the Northern United States.. Yep the good old stares and stripes, than the south ever thought of having......

    Not when it started.

It was only about slavery? Not really; only to those who want it to stand for only slavery, and therefore racism.

I think you are the one that needs to study the history of the Civil war.. That war started over Tarrifs that the north wanted to charge the south for shipping their goods to the north... When they couldnt force the southern states into compliance the subject of slavery was brought in.. The Freakin Battle flag had nothing to do with the Issues... It was a BATTLE FLAG to distinquish the southern troops from the Northern troops... You history revisionists make me laugh.....

Here are the top reasons for the civil war..

    1. Economic and social differences between the North and the South.

    2. States versus federal rights.

Slavery became an issue when lincoln thought of he took away the slaves the south would cave in to his demands.. Lincoln himself said he didnt want to take the slaves

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, issued the Emancipation Proclamation, which led to the end of slavery, on January 1, 1863. He issued it because on September 22, 1862, he had warned that if the states of the Confederacy, or South, didn't return to the Union, or North, by January 1, 1863, he would declare their slaves "forever free." The South refused to return to the Union, so Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
The War started in 1861 ,,,,,,,,DUHHHHHHHHHHH...

This all happened because the North went to war with the South mainly to reunite the nation, not to end slavery. This war is also known as the Civil War. The civil war was already 2 years ongoing befor lincoln used the Slavery issue to get the south to return to the Union..

Officially, the Civil War began on 12 April 1861 ,, Lincolns proclamation was in 1863.. The War was fought originally over economic and separation from the union issues...

Then if you actually read history, the freeing of the slaves was only directed to the southern states,.,, Many northern slave owners kept their slaves untill 5 or more years after the war...

However my point was,, Who were the culprits that brought slaves into this country.. It damn sure wasnt the southern states or thier ships.. The slave trade was a lucrative business and the North got their share of it.....

I don't fly a rebel flag, but I notice those who complain about it most have no problem with HClinton going on about how wonderful Margaret Sanger was, or how wonderful Mao was, and that sort of thing.

People need to realize that the flag represents different things to different people and to not judge or assume the intention behind someone supporting the flag.
Some people merely see if as pride for their southern state, like patriotism.
Some see it as a personal attack to the northern states of the US.
And others see it as supporting slavery and rascism.

Most often, it's a sign of pride. So I have no problem with it, I think people should get over it. It is history after all.
