Hot tea with lemon and honey. Also, do you have to work or drive anywhere? If not, Get some Jaegermeister - I'm not joking on this one - put it in the freezer, have a chilled shot, and lie down. Jaeger was actually an herbal liquor made for hunters in the cold forests of Europe (The logo of the deer with the cross is the symbol of the patron saint of hunters). It will soothe you, take an edge off the sore throat, and let you take a good nap.

If you can stand it, gargle several times with a bit of straight vinegar. It works for me every time. It also kills bacteria. Good luck in whatever you try...Hope it goes away.

Have a look to be sure you're not infected (swollen nodes under your earlobes,
white spots on the back of your throat) and take aspirin or tylenol.

Gargle with warm salt water. Your honey drink will feel soothing so go ahead, but the salt water will help to cure your throat of any infection or irritation.
