Any moms out there who have re-entered the workforce after an absence? How did you do? What was difficult to adjust to?

I'm now a part time worker and stay at home mom! YeaWorking at a facial spa that does lazer treatment among many other things. It's so exciting and fun to learn about! Part time and five minutes from my house! I'm excited to be back in the work force. We'll see how it goes. :)

It was hard to re-assimilate and remember all the rules, games, expectations, etc. It was nice being the master and commander while it lasted...LOL

I did. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed staying home for the period I did. I was an ex-Wall Street trader and thought I'd be terribly unhappy at home. I stayed very active with volunteerism, etc. and was able to re-enter the workforce part-time. Part-time quickly became full-time. I'm very fortunate for the time I had with my kids when they were very young, but it was a financial sacrifice. Still remember my first paycheck after returning to work!

Good for you Jack's Pearl! Congratulations on the new gig!

I went back to work when my son was 9mths old after I ran away from his drug addict father. 12-14 hour shifts to take care of him. Broke my heart, but now things have slowed down. I work less, met a great guy (who bought us a house) and life is better. It was hard to go to work the days he was sick. I hated handing him off to a sitter in his morning PJ's only to pick him up in his night time PJ's but I did what I had to do.

I did - I have to honestly say I never thought about it very much, it was necessary and I like working outside the home (much easier work than in home) -

no; but good for you! :) I only took off 6 weeks when my son was born and went straight back to work. I wish it could have been longer actually.
