Attention all Emos! This is crazy on so many levels. There is actually an "Emo Rights" movement in Mexico. A series of attacks on dyed-hair, eye-makeup-wearing emo kids, and possibly MCR fans began in early March when several hundred people went on an emo-beating rampage in Querétaro, a town of 1.5 million about 160 miles north of Mexico City.

The next week, shaggy-haired emo teenagers were harassed again by punks and rockabillys in the capital, prompting police protection and a segment on the TV news. Most recently, a Mexican newspaper reported that metal heads and gangsters have warned Tijuana's emo kids to stay away from the town's fair next month.

Many of the attacks have been planned, or at least fomented, on violently anti-emo websites like Movimiento Anti Emosexual, which features videos of physical violence sprinkled liberally with anti-gay sentiment. Last.fm's Anti Emo Death Squad group has almost 4,000 members.

Anyway, as you said the discrimination is really high, specially in Querétaro where they kill (yes KILL) emos everyday. There are some videos of emo murderers in YouTube

Holy shit. This is getting out of hand. I briefly speculated before if the emo style was a way for homosexuals to ease into their being, but fuck... this is ridiculous. Is there that much hate in the Mexico that now emos, regardless of their apparent sexuality, are now in danger???

Emos influence others to be negative as well as have little or no care about themselves & others. Being Emo also gives the idea that cutting their wrists is right. They have a right to dress and act how they want as long as they don’t negatively influence others in the process. Emos are just a gang. The definition of “gang” is a group of 3 or more that dress alike and have bad intentions. Emos dress alike and they have intentions in hurting themselves and sometimes others.
Some argue that police should protect Emos.
Police should have nothing to do with gangs unless they are arresting or controlling them.

You should not criminalize any specific group. I think that there may be an anti-gay issue here as well, as many associate (incorrectly) male homosexuality with emo.

However, there is a bigger issue here! Ah doesn't Mexico have a little drug war going on. If they are busy focusing in on this, no wonder they are not solving any problems~
