The skeptics were wrong.
Amy Winehouse had no illegal drugs in her system when she died last month at age 27, according to toxicology tests.
"Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death," read a statement released today by family spokesman Chris Goodman, E! Online reports.
There was alcohol in Winehouse's bloodstream when she died, but it hasn't yet been determined if it played any role in her death. The outcome of the inquest is expected in October.
The toxicology report lends some credence to Mitch Winehouse's theory about his daughter's death. Winehouse recently said that his daughter was no longer dependent on drugs when she died and had gone three weeks without consuming alcohol. The family suggested that it was actually alcohol withdrawal that killed the singer.
In any event, it looks like alcohol had something to do with her death. But it does look like Winehouse had managed to wean herself off of harder drugs. Makes the whole thing sadder somehow, doesn't it?

I'm not sure about this at all...But isn't the release of the toxicology tests a little late? Idk at all, but it just seems like they usually come out faster. //shrug.

I am sure they are not telling what LEGAL DRUG it was or some pharmaceutical company would lose business overnight.
