America has nothing to apologize for!

Annette 2012/06/11 17:53:08

At
a time when our president and other politicians tend to
apologize for
our country's prior actions, here's a refresher on how some of our
former patriots handled negative comments about our country.

JFK'S
Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when
DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaulle said he wanted all US
military out of France as soon as possible.
Rusk responded:
"Does that include those who are buried here?"

DeGaulle
did not respond. You could have heard a pin drop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When
in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by
the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an
example of 'empire building' by George Bush.
He answered
by saying: "Over the years, the United States has sent
many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for
freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever
asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not
return."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There
was a conference in France where a number of international engineers
were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one
of the French engineers came back into the room saying, "Have
you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an
aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does
he intend to do, bomb them?"

A Boeing engineer

stood up and replied quietly: "Our
carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred
people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical
power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the
capacity to
feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can
produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each
day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting
victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven
such ships; how many does France have?"

You
could have heard a pin drop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A
U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included
Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French
navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a
large group of officers that included personnel from most of those
countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their
drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas
Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then
asked, "Why is it that we always have to speak English in these
conferences rather than speaking French?"
Without
hesitating, the American Admiral replied, "Maybe it's because
the Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you
wouldn't have to speak German."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AND
THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...

Robert
Whiting,
an
elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French
Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry
on.

"You
have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked
sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to
France previously.

"Then you should know enough to have
your passport ready."

The American said, "The
last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible!"
The Frenchman said, "Americans always have to show their
passports on arrival in France!"

The American
senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly
explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944
to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to
show a passport to."

You could have heard a pin
drop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If
you are proud to be an American, pass this on! If not, delete it.
Too bad we have a jackass president who isn't proud of America! Maybe
it's because he is not an American!
THIS IS WHAT HONOR LOOKS LIKE!
I
am proud to be of this land, AMERICA!
You!
    The ONLY thing America needs to apologize for, is putting into the office of President a foreigner..... for he DAMN sure does not act American! :(
    Oh give it up with you. You are showing your immaturity. It's just idle ranting and raving because you have been told what to think. No country acts purely out of good will. America is no different than others have been in the past who were on top of the pile. All empires act in their own self interest and if others get hurt or helped along the way that comes with the power. The fact that Europeans nearly wiped out the native population of North America and instituted a slave system which was maintained long after the civilized world recognized the evil is nothing to be proud of. I say here Europeans because Americans seem to think they themselves are a breed apart. Making war on people because they will not install the government that you approve of is another mistake America has made. How sad that the great experiment turned finally to the very same tactic of war that the top dogs of the past used too. When a country as rich an powerful as America throws its weight around you are bound to have people think you are a bully and arrogant. George Bush was a bit of a swaggering and it contributed to the view that others had of America and Americans. With the election of Obama the world looked to American and thought that maybe they are not all pomp and feathers afterall. We might be glad of that. Nobody likes a bragger.
    You're the one who should give it up! When it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and acts like a duck - guess what - IT'S A DUCK!!! America has NOTING to apologize for, period! And that is as in your face as it gets! Be proud of America or leave it! And BTW - say hi to "m" for me. You will be much happier in Venezuela, I am sure, and if you do go there, please, please, please, pretty please, take the 0vomit with you permanently. He and Chavez have so much in common!
    No one said we were squeaky clean. What I did say and implied is we have integrity: something clearly lacking in this administration. What war have you served in to make anything better for mankind? We used to try and work things for the better, but lately that has become a lost cause because of the usurper in charge.
    Anybody with half a brain knows and realizes NO ONE IS PERFECT! So what is the other half of your brain doing besides writing BS? WE DO NOT NEED TO APOLOGIZE!
    I see, and Canada has never helped out ever, have they? Certainly you haven't! We should not be in Afghanistan, and everybody here knows it except the usurper in chief who has put our boys in harms way needlessly! Even Russia knew better than to continue to throw good men and money into that crap hole.
    Tell you what - when this usurper takes this country down, don't go whining about what happens to you in the process - I guarantee it will not be pretty!
    I am surprised that you would use MLK to make your point. We did embrace his message and we did bring America to a higher level because of that embracing and reaching out. It has only been in the last 3-1/2 yrs since the usurper has taken an illegal spot in the White House and has distributed his message of hate and division that we now have a black and white issue that is far worse than anything MLK ever faced. If he were here today, he would look 0vomit in the eye and tell him it is his message that is wrong; it is 0vomit's message and maneuvering that has hurt this country - not white people, but a half black, half white Muslim! You should get your history and eras right. MLK was a bringer of peace to America: 0vomit has brought nothing but descent, class warfare and division!
    Do you have any idea what the word "invasion" means? It means the entry as an enemy; infringement by intrusion with intent to HARM! Note the key word there is to HARM. Our forces do not go into countries to HARM their citizens; rather we have gone in to liberate those under oppression - so try getting your facts straight before showing your rear end.
    PS - your link doesn't seem to cover anything in an unbiased sense. Try looking at the entire picture for a change; you just might learn something.
I like that you stuck in the navy demonstrating but making no move or assault. Did you remember the Bay of Pigs as well? You truly know so much that simply isn't so - go take a hike!
