Am I the only one who is sick and tired of fat shamers?

People should be able to have their bodies respected whether they are thin, average, muscular, or fat.
I am a fat shamer.

Any kind of body shaming, actually. It's ridiculous. From something as "little" as someone calling another 'porky' or 'fatass' or using any other term in a negative manner, to something as horrifying as someone telling another to go kill themself. Why? Simply because of their body. Simply because they exist? It sickens me to see others trying to inflict any kind of pain on others, including when that pain is inflicted by trying to make someone hate themself, which honestly, I believe is monstrous.
And it breaks my heart to see so many people start to believe that their value really is determined by how much or how little they weigh, or if they have cellulite, or if they have rolls or stretch marks or if their thighs are best friends.

I just want to say that if anyone who's reading this is ever feeling like they aren't good enough because of how they look or because of body shamers who are trying to bring you down, know that you don't need a reason to love yourself, and that you are beautiful.

Much love,
-Liv

It hurts to be ridiculed for your weight and size. I've been bullied about it before.

It is so immature to criticize anyone's appearance.

I'm more or less a shamer of my own proclivity to put on unneeded pounds. I also keep an eye on my 32-year-old daughter. Everyone else can do what they want.

The way I see it, if it's not your body, it's not your business. I especially hate it when people say they just want to encourage fat people to be healthier. No, shut up. Worry about yourself and stop bothering other people about their bodies.

As another person said, I'm not really one to put anyone down simply because of their body, but the way a person respects and treats their own body is important, as it should be. Granted some people are naturally skinny or husky, but when one goes as far as to do things to their body to become entirely too skinny or too fat, it should be a concern to others. People shouldn't necessarily be mean to them for it, but I'm not going to respect someone who lazes around all day stuffing their face with junk food or someone who throws up or doesn't eat enough just so they remain skinny, the same way I will respect someone who takes care of their body the way they should.

Umm... why? What business is it of yours? And you actually can't tell by looking at someone how the take care of their bodies or what state their insides are in *shocker*. Besides that, the thing you mentioned about throwing about food is a mental illness? Are you seriously going to shame someone for being sick?

Not really. I just don't agree with "people should be able to have their bodies respected", implying that it should be automatically respected no matter what. But that doesn't mean they should be openly verbaly disrespected either.
