For the last couple of weeks, we've been asking SodaHeads about their holiday habits and gift expectations for the 2011 holiday season, and now we've got enough data to fill a stocking. Thanksgiving will be here next week, which means open season for bargain-hunters and holiday shoppers.

But the holidays have changed over the years. Instead of Nerf guns and action figures, kids seem more interested in video games and technological gifts. Even adults are opting for cash and credit instead of physical gifts, which means the National Christmas Tree Association might need that commodity promotion after all. If all we're putting under the tree is a wad of cash and an iPhone, it's going to be a little lonely under the pine.

All I want for Christmas is my family healthy and safe. Especially my dad. Kidney failure is not cute, and I would LOVE if for Christmas, we had a miracle and his renal function came back and he didn't have to be on dialysis. I know that's pretty deep for Sodahead, but they did ask me what I wanted.
On the materialistic side...A Kindle! :)

I think the whole Christmas celebration should be replaced with another Thanksgiving-style celebration (all the turkey, all the family, all the thanks) and maybe add a couple more of them throughout the year as i, for one, could certainly benefit from a reminder to be more consistently thankful. And for those who would still like to celebrate and sing 'happy birthday' to Jesus, i'd be more than happy to move my thankful bash a day or two ahead (or back) so there's no conflicting schedules, etc. This probably is not the appropriate place for me to make one last comment ,but...there should be a law : wearing sweat pants (or really ANY attire with elasticized properties or 'expanding capabilities' ) should be mandatory at all dinners with turkey on the menu. (Pls. note this does not include spandex , which should be against the law for too many reasons to mention here...)

A moment of peace. I'll take a night by a fire with my friends and family over an overdecorated gift-filled nonsensical religious holiday. So will they. This is why we celebrate Yule, the holiday people forgot about when the Christians renamed it to fit their needs.

I don't want anything, for the past 6 years I haven't celebrated Christmas as I'm not religious. This we're having decorations but that's it, no presents, no extended family invading the house. It will be just myself, my dad, my gran and my two cats having a peaceful day =)

Hmm personaly, I feel the urge to buy the gun that I have as my profil picture(but only if its legal in canada, which is my permanent residence) See, I have the best gift of all, maybe your spoilt kids will like it too. Its called family time, a novel idea(i know) where people get joy from fun than from material goods. Also the person that said a better job, high five. See, I love how people are getting int odebt to go on a winter vacation, all I can think is, dont take it if you cant afford it.

You can get your wish by next Christmas if you take time and then observe at one of the best prepared man in the group, will not name him, has lots a baggage, and the dummyrats are trying to destroy him digging into his life, business, etc., to stopped him from being the presidential candidate against the inept we have now. Off the top four, he is the best, can destroy obamination in any stage, doesn't need a teleprompter, he is the best man for the job, knows what needs to be done to save this country from total destruction, has experience in all fronts, obamination is an insignificant insect in front of this man. I am thinking seriously to change from Independent to Rep. just to vote in the Primaries. (I will return being an Independent after that.
