    WOW

Isn't it amazing in how one week we discover Obama is not only related to the very first slave in the US, but he is also related to King John that signed the Magna Carta- but yet he can't seem to find his original birth certificate after 3 1/2 years?

    amazing isn;t it

Sure, why not. As for the idea of genetic testing, that is impossible. However, what strikes me as interesting is this very industrious young student went through all this hard work to learn something no one else apparently knew, also discovers she is an 18th cousin of the current President, himself (Obama), and yet he can't take the time to personally applaud the initiative and dedication it took her to complete the task at the young age of 12, and has his office send her a Form Letter? Buy the kid a plane ticket to Washington to shake her hand personally, and spend less on your wife's extravagant vacations, ODumbAss. It's Shameful, but then again, what do you expect - families of Navy SEALs Team Six members who died for their country only got form letters, too. This man doesn't care about Middle Class Americans (the bulk of which our great young soldiers came from), nor does he care about the rest of the nation. He cares about himself and getting re-elected. Sorry for the obscene language I am about to use, but p*ss on him - say no in November.

Just watch as people will turn this into an anti-obama ad...

in 4 years, it'll crop up again against whoever is in power then. and 4 years after that, and after that, and after that...

Now "why on Earth" would we do that? It isn't 4, 8, or 12 years from now - it's right now, and he's not doing a good job. Add to this, the little girl deserves a lot more than a form letter for what she discovered. Guess what Obama got that peace prize for? Nada, which is a lot less.

Without modern DNA testing I cannot see how this can be proven beyond the shadow of doubt. Record keeping before the latter half of the 19th century was not always reliable. I think we should put Henry Louis Gates Jr. on this theory.

That means absolutely nothing. A hell of a lot of people are related to Royalty and don't know it. I've traced my ancestry back to English, French, Germany, and a stack of other Royal Houses. If your looking for leadership skills than maybe stick to one or two generations that have direct influence on the individual not someone that lived a thousand years ago.

Screw the English lineage anyway. Sir William Wallace "Brave Heart"

Scientifically everybody comes from 2 people, but not directly English.

However true leaders aren't always the ones in power - in-fact many times true leaders never wanted to have power and have no desire for it.

Real leaders come from people with ideas and the means to present those ideas that benefit everybody.

Leadership in theory is genetic only through birth, not because everybody who is a leader has the qualities to lead - nor should they all lead.

    Logically, no.

Cross-breeding of species creates no breed-able offspring.

The real Question is, If Evolution is how we got here, how did it happen that two of the same species appeared to begin the process?
  • Seiryuu Dave Sa... 2012/08/07 15:30:31
    Seiryuu
Speciation. I'm not sure on what type of speciation was used for humans, but if a group of individuals were somehow, for example, separated from the rest of the population (as in allopatric separation), their isolation in the group can influence the expression of different genes and such new species can arise.

  • Seiryuu Dave Sa... 2012/08/07 17:30:24

Oh so much. But you have to remember other factors such as genetic drift and gene flow which causes preference for certain individuals. Plus there are mutations that one should foresee (but unable to do anything about).

Leadership qualifications handed down to descendants do not insure good leadership in the ensuing generation. Any more than a war ace would produce a line of good pilots.

Is it illogical to reach the conclusion, that the presidents of this country can trace their roots back to that of an English king?. Is it also criminal for an Italian prime minister to be descended from Leonardo Da Vinci? Wrong for a Chines :Prime Minister to be descended from Lao Tsu?

The president in office now can't trace his roots back to an English King .

Good to be on the side that wins every now and then...boy, I know I'm gonna get killed for that one!

In this post millennium world of universal 'diversity', or the striving for thereof it's a crime to be white and like it. Or to be of the race that have served our country's highest office. Can't have that.

The politically correct bent is to water down the races to the point where everyone is one sort of tan or apartment beige color. Neither hot nor cold, but tepid in nature and endeavor.

This is really a closet eye opener, Art. Good question.

I don't believe that leadership ability is genetic, but the links do offer another piece of circumstantial evidence to the idea that the world is controlled by a shadow elite of certain bloodlines. It's interesting if nothing else.

No news here. It's been known from the beginning that the US "ruling class", for lack of a better term, is directly grounded on a small collection of English, German, and Dutch royal families.
