okay Adidas created a new sneaker with cuffs round the ankles. Besides the shoes being horribly ugly, do you think it is racist? Here is my opinion: Being that the age group that would buy the shoes if released are between the ages of 13-19 and have no history of slavery, civil rights or all white presidents in their history no I do not think it is a big deal. It is 2012, people will buy and do things that grabs your attention. This definetly has people talking. I would not expect to see certain age groups with these shoes on. I think Adidas was just trying to come out with a new style. Have you seen modern style lately, Black men and women are wearing dog chains around their neck and cuffs for bracelets with skinny jeans. How are these shoes worse than that. I say OH WELL GET OVER IT.
It´s just the idea of a pop, hip hop, 80s culture vampire marketer. Ugly by the way. This is what happens when you let a queer Fisher Price trendy fashion designer alone in your shoe company. Ignorance is the only slavery.
Absolutely amazing. It's amazing that everything is now racist. Why is this being associated with slavery by some? There is nobody in this country that has ever been a slave. There are many many many that have been incarcerated in our prison system. I don't understand the warped thinking that is going on lately. Prisoners wear shackles when they are being transported so I guess every prisoner in this country must be black (That is, if the race issue is pointing at blacks however, if there are more whites in prison than blacks then I guess the race issue would be reversed).
The only reason that I can come up with for this latest racial tension phenomenon is our present administrations class warfare and racists attitude.
People are creating unnecessary racial controversy & creating unnecessary hypes, which will have no effect +ve, but has all the negative incidence in it. Which can trigger a time bomb. And the onus to go on election strategy.
And what mentality is that? The mentality that I can choose whether I want to be employed there or not. Walmart employs hundreds of thousands of workers. I guarantee you that not one of those workers is forced to wear shackles, and not one of those workers could be considered a slave. Slaves can't quit their jobs, Walmart workers can. Thanks.
It's the mentality that let good businesses that gave full time jobs with benefits for many generations over to part time minimum jobs with no benefits. You are willing to take what you get instead of manning up.
Really! When was the last time that you were a slave and had to wear a shackle? Are you also dreaming about prison clothing too. That must also be haunting you.

Some people are offended by everything. Personally, I am sick of em!
