I always try to be an honest person and be who I really am whoever I'm with, but a lot of people I know change to be more like whoever they're with. They are often more liked than me but I find it much better to be who you really are. What do you think?

It's okay to act differently with different people

It's a matter of being pleasing to these friends. This is usually a behavior issue. important to one and not to the other like smoking.
In case of the boss of your job needs respect so he may direct your working hours. etc.

You shouldn't act differently around different people

I think it's a sign of a person who has a deep need for acceptance. They modify their behaviour to be what someone else likes, and betray their own individuality.
Of course that could be entirely different, if you are acting like an azz to people you despise, if you are not normally an azz.
