Five credit cards. My wife is a very good manager with our budget and I NEVER have to worry about things. Prior to us getting married, we discussed our short term and long term goals in respect with money. In four years of married, we NEVER argued about money. :)

Three. All paid off every month. Why three? One has no limit (Amex), one works where Amex doesn't and one works overseas better than the other two.

Two- One Mastercard and one Visa. I pay both off each month in full. I use them as charge cards and not as credit cards. Buying gas on a cold, rainy day is so much easier with a card. Sure beats having to go into the station, sometimes twice, to pay a cashier. I never use my ATM card for purchases. It's reserved for cash withdrawals only as I don't like leaving an electronic trail where I've been and what I've purchased.
