A lot of young people don't know that the Titanic disaster actually happened -- they think it was just a movie. Does this concern you?

As well as not knowing who at least the first three presidents were, all 50 states, that a $2 bill is real, how to write a thank you note, anything about the US civil war and a whole host of other knowledge.

Ask them about the history of their own Country and most of them don't have a clue!

It shouldn't be a problem. They'll hear of it eventually.

Your response concerns me. Just because it was long ago (only a 100 years btw, not that long ago), it's OK for people to think it didn't really happen?

    What about the Holocaust then?
    What about Slavery?
    What about the Black Death?

What about many events from the past that really happened, and some people think they might not have happened?

Your examples are huge tragedies that affected millions and caused or worsened by social wrongs that affected history in dramatic ways while the titanic was due to nature and possible neglect of the ships captain and affected only the people involved in it. That's like comparing a switchblade to a nuclear weapon

are you serious?!? OMG!! thats unbelieveable---I mean I believe you, I just cant get over that; it was a relatively major historical event, how can anybody think it was just a movie?

it is sad that they dont actually realize that all those people really died but in the movie they didnt give and recognition to the real Titanic so i dont blame them
