Agreed. Know what else is a shame. People in America (especially the editorial media) can't go 5 minutes without saying:

"The shooter was a ___________"
or

"The shooter believed __________"

Whoever fills in that blank first gets to vilify the other side. In American politics (especially during an election year), neither side can resist the temptation to turn a horrible human tragedy into a talking point.

I'M SO VERY WATCHFUL WHEN WE GO OUT (ANYWHERE) NOW! ...ONE OF MY VERY BEST FRIEND'S ELDERLY MOTHER WAS FATALLY SHOT IN CHURCH A FEW YEARS AGO. THE SHOOTER ENTERED THE CHURCH'S EVENING PRAYER MEETING TO KILL HIS WIFE WITH WHOM HE HAD HAD AN ARGUMENT EARLIER... THERE ARE NO "SAFE PLACES" ANY LONGER.

I'm sure the pacifists who call themselves Sikhs are excellent shots. I was being facetious of course. That the assault weapons ban was ever lifted was absurd, in my Goldwater Republican way of thinking, but then I hear I'm a RINO now...along with Alan Simpson and Brent Scowcroft and many, many other elderly from the former GOP.

I certainly rather they carried sniper rifles than to carry assault weapons, but I seriously doubt that the pacific Sikhs will ever resort to carrying weapons in their places of worship.

I am praying for all involved and for all people on the planet. I am also praying for the patience to keep my mouth shut until there is some sort of official statement as to what has happened in this current situation in the temple. Hopefully when I finally open my mouth, God will put the words there because what I would currently have to say just would really be bad.
