I truly do feel compassion for people who have nothing and are struggling as I'm certain most people with a heart do. But when this woman made the comment she made she lost me. It tells me this woman never had any intention of making an attempt to contribute to society but rather, from the beginning, wanted society to contribute to her. It's this mentality that is taking this great nation into the trenches.

She has a very long criminal record, i imagine no matter what she had to live on she`d still resort to criminal activities.

OK, I was wondering if the quote in your heading was your take on the newspaper article, or if the suspect said it. So I see made the statement 'would not do all this nonsense if the government gave us more money.”' after she was arrested. Humph! She has a 21 page rap sheet going back to 1955, and has served time in prison nine times and has used more than 25 know aliases. If I were the judge I say of her story, "Bull Turds lady," and give her five years, and call it life. At 82 she wouldn't last five years in a real prison. She should have thought about that before she embarked on a life of crime.

I'm going to point out here ..
this is SOMEONE .. dating back to the year 1955
(oh, yes, indeed .. read that year .. it is now over 57 years +)

has engaged in a pattern of ..
CRIME .. Fraud, Theft, Burglary, Grand Theft, Even MURDER
(just stunned that there'd be a declaration that she was somehow 'mentally unstable' for the Murder charge .. )

IF she had actually ..
worked a LEGAL JOB ..
kept out of the JAIL CELLS ..
did an HONEST DAYS work ..
actually paid her own bills through hard effort ..
earned that pay ..
she'd have known enough to put aside for her future ..
(which is what HONEST Citizens did .. that are the same age .. they NEVER committed crimes)

Just yet ANOTHER EXCUSE .. from someone who is used to living on the TAXPAYER Rolls ..
3 hots, a cot .. no responsibilities .. no worries about her health care or anyone at all ..

Sorry if this person had worked as hard a ta job as has she has at stealing, maybe she would be enjoying a well earned retired in Florida instead going to jail at her age, She did the crime means she does the time, the government will feed, house and give her medical services while in jail so she wont need any money,

Unfortunately people are having to resort to stealing to eat. If the cost of living was growing at the same rate as the cost of goods then there would be less problems. I don't believe that the govt should had money out like candy, but we need to help the populations that need it the most.
