One of the great mysteries of the 2011 Solyndra bankruptcy was: What happened to all that money? After the United States government “loaned” Solyndra $535 million, the money quickly vanished; the bankruptcy court later found that the company had essentially no cash on hand. They had spent it all on equipment and inventory.

    I agree that we have said good bye to fiscal sanity. But I don't believe this company was ever intended to be a thriving business. I think it was a shell company from the beginning to move money for the progressive/liberal agenda.
    Line those pockets.....friends, family, entourage....just grab with both hands! Its on the idiot American taxpayers.

    I'm only saying "Disagree" because it's still a bit early to tell. However, if the long-term results are anything like the short-term results, then I obviously selected the wrong answer. I'd want to see how things play out over the next few years to know for absolute certain.

    Also, what's the irony that while Obama's been trying to urge the country to go toward "green energy", the oil and gas industries have added 75,000 jobs since Obama took office?

    Let’s see, Solyndra, LSE Energy, Ecotacity, and Unisolar, only to point out a few, are all Green job failures backed by Obama. Does he have any that have succeeded?

    that is sad to take 500 millions dollars, which taxpayer are on the hook for, Instead of doing that, that money could help so many people keep there homes, created real jobs,but instead there friends got the money. The company failed, but they all got bonus.

    It sure appears to be that way. We have been working on solar energy almost all of my life and we still can't get it. Kind of makes you wonder if it ever will be a viable alternative.

    I'm not sure if we have the technology yet to make it profitable. Right now the Chinese are the main manufacturers of solar panels and they are being subsidized by the Chinese government and then selling them cheaper than what everyone else can.

    Billions of dollars were not wasted if you are a powerful member of the Democrat party as they will find their way back into political donations of Democrats.

    Too bad for the tax payers that got stuck with the debt.
