You might be slim and sexy now, but by the year 2030, 42 percent of the U.S. population will be obese, according to a new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Meaning, there's a good chance that you will be one of them.

And it gets even worse: 11 percent of Americans will be severely obese, defined as more than 100 pounds overweight, according to the forecast. Pretty scary, considering that about two-thirds of Americans are already overweight, and about 34 percent of adults are currently obese.
So what's causing the problem? No one trigger was identified, but the authors made projections based on factors like the cost of healthy and unhealthy foods, gas prices and Internet access, ABC News reports.

Obesity has been linked to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer, meaning there is much more than vanity at stake here. So if you haven't done so already, get yourself a gym membership and clear the junk food out of your pantry. You have 18 years to beat the odds!
