30-Pound Cat Having Trouble Finding New Home: Would You Adopt Him?

This fat cat is just as cute and sweet as any other feline. But weighing in at a whopping 30 pounds, SpongeBob is having a hard time finding a new owner. "I think people are intimidated," Kendra Mara, associate director of the Animal Haven shelter in SoHo neighborhood in Manhattan (where SpongeBob was dropped off two months ago) told The New York Post. "They think they’ll need more space for him, but really they don’t."

SpongeBob was apparently allowed to eat unlimited amounts of food all day before his owner had to go into a hospice. In fact, he weighed 33 pounds when he arrived at the shelter. But he's already lost three pounds. "We eliminated dry food and put him on an exercise program," Mara told the Post. "Even if he just gets down to 24 or 25 pounds, that will make a huge difference on his body." Would you give SpongeBob a new home?

Probably has health problems, if not now he will. That'd be like adopting a toddler.
It would take more space he would not fit in the litterbox the normal sized cats use.

People really do transfer the prejudices they hold against people to animals! I have normal weight cats and a female cat which is well above weight. She has been investigated for metabolic and endocrine diseases, and has neither. She was once put for six months on the most restricted calories diet, hated it, and lost 45g after six months. No cats eat anything but their prescribed dry food in my house. It was proven, in her case, that she did not eat more than the other cats, her genetic complexion probably makes her accumulate a greater percentage of the food as fat. We tried exercise, she did it, got bored real quick, and it led nowhere. Now she's 17 year old and healthy, so please don't you people be so quick to judge people nor their pets. You may be wrong and offensive, without knowing it!

While he charms liberals, Obummer has frequently been proven to be a liar. You can usually spot it by seeing if his lips are moving. Sure indicator.
