2012: Feel Any Different Yet?

I celebrated New Year's Eve like many/most people watching a pre-recorded video of Ryan Seacrest, Jenny McCarthy, Dick Clark and Lady Gaga from New York. We stayed up late and toasted with our friends, then went home. So far it doesn't feel any different.

Then again... lots of new laws went into effect in 2012, particularly in California. We have lots of crazy politicians who feel obligated to legislate every emotional news story. They outlawed caffeinated beer, increased the required age for booster seats to 8 years old, required LGBT celebration in public school history classes, outlawed some cities requiring e-verify, etc...

    Among the changes are several taxes on drugs, medical devices, health insurance, and some procedures to help make health care "more affordable" in 2014.

    Bills that need to be paid ..
    the Monthly Re-Stock of the Fridge, Freezer, Pantry happened already too ...
    Chores keep on piling up (and have to be done)
    and Taxes have to be paid as well ..
    Always the same ... year after year ..
    But then again ... Living RURALLY there's not much of the NONSENSE pushed towards us!

    I survived day 3 of 2012, despite what the Maya's predicted.

    I have a date to look forward to in 2 days and my dad's celebrating his 65th on the 6th of January, followed by my co-worker's B-day on the 7th. Overall it's going great so far. I let you know if I survive the remaining 363 days.

    I took the kids to see "We Bought a Zoo" and the movie was over a little bit after midnight. We didn't watch the ball drop this year.

    I HAVE LOT OF HOPE FOR THE YEAR 2012. BECAUSE IN 2011, I HAD SO MANY DEATHS IN MY EXTENDED FAMILY, MY HOUSE ALMOST BURN DOWN, MY 3 SONS LOST THEIR JOBS, CAN'T FIND NEW JOBS. I'M HOPEFUL! HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL FRIENDS

    It has boggled me for a long time why networks seem to only want to show new year's eve celebrations in New York and LA. Are there no celebrations anywhere in the vast middle of America? We went downtown to Big D NYE. Good fireworks and lots of fun people watching. The dress code for young (and not so young) women seemed to be very short spangled sequin dresses with really high heels. It was amusing watching them going into the even strutting their stuff and coming back out carrying their shoes and demanding their dates coats as a cold front hit right before midnight. Surely places like Chicago or New Orleans or Miami or Boston or Seattle have celebrations. Why are we stuck with this sad old format from Times Square?

    If I can just remember to date my checks "2012" instead of "2011".....Took me six months to get that right last year. Gonna do everything electronically next year.

    Was so excited about the new year that i fell asleep shortly after 11 last night. Maybe its just that I'm a bit down from having everyone hindering or stopping everything I am trying to do to make my life a little more pleasant. Maybe I'll finally get some breaks this year, or maybe this year I'll get fed up enough to walk away and let things happen however they may.

    Thank you :) I know but I think he'll be okay with it because I've heard him talk about people he knows who are gay and he seems to be perfectly fine with it. And I'm bi so maybe that's easier to accept.

    Well of course, we're in front of you guys timewise; so we've even hit our New Year's church services and taught our SSchools, etc here as well by now.

    Had a good finish, family-wise, to 2011 and Great start thus far in 2012.
    I seem to have only one Truant in the family now, and the Spirit is all going well, and quite renewed in fact, on our most important fronts, in particular: so hopefully, all other things will slowly fall into place - even our housing projects are taking some shape now: the next 2 months should tell ;)
