Not afraid of snakes, just the destruction of entire ecosystems due to the release of non-native species. And yes, I'm one of those right-wing wackos that hates nearly everything about Obama and the liberal left. I think The Nuge would agree.

Snakes have their place in nature. That's fine, as long as that place is far away from me.

Snakes are absolutely adorable. I love them. How could you be afraid of them! Yes, they can kill you, but pretty much EVERYTHING can kill you.

I saw those in Borneo, they are called sea kraits. They venom is more deadly than that of a king cobra. But they cannot open their mouths wide enough to bite a human being. Their mouths are designed for taking fish in the ocean. When I was in Borneo, people were handling them without any fear at all.

Not the non venomous ones. My friend has a pet boa and he would sometimes bring her into town.

    They're super cute :3

As long as the very biiig ones are at least 10 feet away from me.

My friend has an adorable snake named Missy. I can't remember what kind she is, but she's pretty big, and super sweet.

Makes me want a lil snake ^^

That is not a coral snake, it is a corn snake. Corn snakes are non-venomous.

I owned at 5 foot boa. Most snakes are harmless. Other than the black mamba, even the poisonous ones avoid man if they can. When I had my boa, I didn't know so many people were afraid of snakes.

As long they're outdoors in their environment, I'm fine. I might have a different attitude if I found one in my bed. Here, in the Chicago area, the largest snake I've ever noticed was about 12 inches, it was kind of cute.

Situational awareness and removing/keeping out alien species from the habitat they don't belong in can solve the situation. Apply to every invasive issue.

I will not go near snakes, they are interesting to look at but I will not touch them. It is to bad that these snakes are running around that area. I heard that they are not native to the area so they pose a real threat. I wish people would not bring these animals to places where they become problems.

I live in rattle snake country and they like my yard! I even had one in the house one night and when I seen it I was too darn tired to try to find it! It had gone in the laundry room, it was a small one, so I blocked the door that he could into other rooms from and then I put down snake traps along the edges of the walls. Snake traps can be gotten at Wal-Mart and they are a sticky patch that you put along the edges of rooms as they tend to slither along the edge. Me and the dogs went to sleep and the next morning I got up and he was stuck tight on the snake trap. Now every year at the beginning of snake season I have Liquid Fence(Brand) snake repellent that I spray all around the edges of the yard. Haven't had a snake for two years!! Forgot to say you have to be very careful that your pests and kids can't get at the traps.

Not generally but I wouldn't want to come across one of those if I was out walking. I think this species took hold after there was a mass break out from a reptile farm, when a hurricane hit Florida in the nineties.
