Now this is just insane!! Im 14, and I barely even think about boys! She's already had sex! What is going on here??? She went to the nurses office and supposedly just went to the bathroom and had the baby without anyone knowing. She left and threw it in the garbage. The principal found it and called the paramedics. The baby is 100% fine. But the girl... I don't even know about that. All I know is she is in a lot of trouble.

the idiot parents are to blame. they didnt talk to their idiot daughter about sex, let alone make her get an abortion. now she is a kid, having a kid. she cant even take care of herself yet shes supposed to take care of another human being? shes not even old enough to work so she will get a break from being a real mother by not having to live up to the true responsibilities a real mother goes thru

There's this thing called adoption! There is a 5 year waiting list for an infant. She should give this child to a loving family who has been desperately waiting for a child for years. Abortion is not always the answer. Give the gift of life to a couple who desperately want a child and can't have one by themselves.

I am 50 years old. When I was a teen in high school in the 1970's a girl had a baby in the bathroom at school....I don't know what happened to her or the baby because I did not know her. But I knew the baby's father. The principal took him into the office and had a talk with him about manning up and taking responsibility. The next day he was at school handing out cigars....can you believe it?

Everyone is different. Some girls hardly show any signs of being pregnant. This isn't the first time this has happened to a woman. It won't be the last either. And...don't forget, you are an individual. You may not think of boys in that light, but obviously this girl did, or was coerced to.

Yes, I love the Christian values such as "Don't wear clothes made of more than one fabric" (Leviticus 19:19)," Don't cut your hair nor shave." (Leviticus 19:27), and this particular gem: "People who have flat noses, or is blind or lame, cannot go to an altar of God." (Leviticus 21:17-18).

Abstinence-only education does not help anything at all. Face it, kids are going through some hormonal changes and it's best that we at least teach them how to handle them in other ways besides not giving in; because if they decide to go against Christian ethics and many do, at least they'd be protected from STD's and unwanted pregnancy. There will ALWAYS be young girls getting pregnant and not knowing what to do about it, there always has been. It's just in medieval times (which were much more strict on Christian principles, supposedly) babies were thrown in the woods where no one knew about it as opposed to a public dumpster. No, we don't learn anything from history. We don't manage to see that the stuff we complain about now has happened for a very long time, it's just in a different form and we act like it's some new trend. This has nothing to do with religion.

Once again your response proves my original point over and over again that the people who really want to dominate our country...have taken over slowly because the "brainwashed" Americans that pee on patriots every day while shaming their ancestors who fought in every American conflict would be a sight that would make these same Americans' ancestors of 100 years ago totally LIVID!

This is the generation that is "Disobedient to Parents, Grandparents, Greats,...etc." It is a heinous shame! :[

Oh, a total shame. There are people out there with a spine that have learned to question the teachings of their elders because the only thing that comes with age is wrinkles...not wisdom or right. There are people out there that do scientific experiments to figure out what makes us tick. Why don't you read some reports on how abstinence-only education has hurt our society? There are many out there. I've yet to read one journal article where such a thing has prevented teen pregnancy.

And again, you bring in this concept of religious right. What about religious tolerance? What about separation of church and state? Why don't you tell me how you can pick and choose which laws to uphold from the Bible? What makes one sin greater than the other, to condemn it? Why are you allowed to tell anyone what's sinful? You don't even know me to tell me what's working for me and what's not. I've never been pregnant, my life is going on a great track. My parents and my schools taught me well, and also because I chose to listen. Tell me, what's so wrong with how I was taught? You obviously seem to know so much about my life...

Much WISDOM does come with age, but I fear that the generations of Americans born since my birth in 1960 have rejected so much Wisdom of the Ages that they will die babbling fools!

Fine, you don't think I know much (forget the fact that I have two BA's under my belt, Magna cum Laude), and that I'm just going with the popular opinion of my generation...here are some scientific studies proving much of what I said to not just be popular opinion:

"Abstinence from sexual intercourse is an important behavioral strategy for preventing human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and pregnancy among adolescents. Many adolescents, including most younger adolescents, have not initiated sexual intercourse and many sexually experienced adolescents and young adults are abstinent for varying periods of time. There is broad support for abstinence as a necessary and appropriate part of sexuality education. Controversy arises when abstinence is provided to adolescents as a sole choice and where health information on other choices is restricted or misrepresented. Although abstinence is theoretically fully effective, in actual practice abstinence often fails to protect against pregnancy and STIs. Few Americans remain abstinent until marriage; many do not or cannot marry, and most initiate sexual intercourse and other sexual behaviors as adolescents. Few Americans remain abstinent until marriage; many do not or cannot marry, and most initiate sexual intercourse and other sexual behaviors as adolescents. Although abstinence is a healthy behavioral option for teens, abstinence as a sole option for adolescents is scientifically and ethically problematic. A recent emphasis on abstinence-only programs and policies appears to be undermining more comprehensive sexuality education and other government-sponsored programs. We believe that abstinence-only education programs, as defined by federal funding requirements, are morally problematic, by withholding information and promoting questionable and inaccurate opinions. Abstinence-only programs threaten fundamental human rights to health, information, and life." There are several more out there; I've seen quite a few of them because I have taken courses on Sexuality and Adolescent Development. Now, keep in mind our government is funding this idea that has proven time and time again to be no more effective, and in fact sometimes quite damaging to our youth, than actual sex education. Knowledge is power, as the commercials say, and teaching our children that the ONLY way to stay safe is to not have sex is sheltering a generation needlessly. Sex, especially done safely, is not dirty. The Song of Soloman reads sometimes like Cosmo or Maxim. So don't you dare throw your Bible thumping ideologies at me. Besides, if you do not pick and choose what's wrong...look at your clothes and see if they're made of different fibers. If so, you're a sinner...unless you choose to discard that law. In which case how is it your choice to decide what laws are to be followed and which to ignore? And if every sin is equal, you are no better and no worse than me and therefore in no position to tell me to repent or to judge me. People like you are the reason I stopped attending church.

Oh, and BTW, it's only ageism if I discriminate against age. I don't...I simply stated that wisdom is not an automatic thing that comes with age. Wrinkles are. I know quite a few intelligent older people that I look up to...but they've earned my respect. Then there are those that make me wonder if senility has set in early...

You see the problem with Abstinence-Based Programs is not the abstinence, nor the fact that it has such support from Christians. The problem in the realm of Abstinence is "weak-willed women" (and men...as well as boys and girls) who are being taught by people who believe as you do that "they're going to do it anyway, we may as well educate them." Yes, they are going to do it anyway as long as you foolishly advertise that you believe this (and even if you don't today's Society is infested with the toxic belief) and tell them to "Go Ahead and DO it!" tacitly by your education programs...that many parents still do not approve of the carnage wrought by the implied license of these programs to youthful sexual activity.

In just a moment as I post this, you will be receiving a mercy-block to prevent any further amendment to HIStory's honored Truth. There is a multiplicity of counter-parts to the Egyptian magicians, Jannes & Jambres (as illustrated in the movie, "The Prince of Egypt,") and most of these (scientists and theologians) are identified by a multiplicity of letters marching "lock-step" behind their names like the "lemmings" who run headlong over the cliff after them straight into pit of HELL!

Your assignment (should you choose to accept it) is to not be one of them. I am NOT an example of why you do not any longer attend church. You alone bear responsibility for that decision because you have believe the world's lies that God is a God of Love exclusively...

God is Just! (He will not excuse SIN, yours nor mine!) God is Merciful! (He has allowed the merits of Jesus and His Perfect Life, His Perfect Death, His Perfect time of burial, and His Perfect Resurrection to be all that is necessary for Mercy to appease Justice!) God is The Seeker for He "seeks and saves those who are lost." His Merits cover my demerits only when I receive them through the Gifts of Faith and Grace that He gives me personally... :)

It takes a village to raise a child. But first, you need parents parenting! Where were the parents for the nine months of pregnancy? Where were the parents before she got pregnant? How did the school officials not notice her tummy getting bigger? The most disturbing factor in all of this is that she is not an isolated case!
