If no diagnosed mental issues, then clearly.

My son has been getting up in the morning, dressing himself (we've have talks about matching, it has helped. ;-), brushing his teeth and making his own bowl of cereal... before we even wake up sometimes. He is 6 years old... and has been doing this for a few YEARS.

Bad parenting. Period.

Something is definitely amiss, but I without knowing the situation, I cannot say. It sounds like he has some sort of mental impairment or disability.
