The other two were younger than ten. And his own mother turned him in. Good for her.
If it were my dad the police would not have found enough left of me to turn in.

It's dispicable, deplorable choice of actions. I see jail in their futures.

I hate to say this but yeah!! But alot of parents are scared to spank their child. They are scared to punish their child in anyway. Me I punish my kids, i put them on lock down when they get out of hand. That means in there rooms with nothing but their beds.

Hate to be stereotypical but this was probably a minority with a mom on welafare and no idea who his dad is. I mean when I was 10 - screw being scared of the police - my Dad would have been my biggest fear if I ever did anything this stupid

Kids these days are molly-coddled. Human rights, etc have gone from a drought 200 years ago to a tsunami today - each is as bad as the other. We need to find a workable middle ground.

I beat his parents are there screaming "he didn't do it" the whole time. We have become a people who do not take credit for our actions - we blame everyone else for our shortfalls and then we get upset when someone tries to hold us accountable. A far cry from how my parents raised me.

His mother is the one that called the cops on him. I agree that somewhere his parents failed but his mother did the right thing in this matter. She deserves a little credit where credit it due.

It is not so much the parents failed.. some children are just uncontrolable...
Also peer pressure from the ones they hang with... make them do stupid stuff.... It is just now, instead of pranks like we did when we were kids, it is violence... Too many video games,

2 Timothy 3:1-5 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away

Not all kids are raised this way, but there are too many that are just given free reign to do as they please without any consequences for their behavior. Put them in a group, and they can do some pretty heinous things to both humans and animals without any remorse whatsoever.

Apparently so. When little Johnny doesn't learn what is like to be punished in a similar style to what he inflicts on others, then there is a lacking in the empathy department. But that's ok. I am sure Granny had it coming.

Yep...unfortunately most parents don't have time to deal with THEIR children. They think the schools should do it yet the don't want the schools to have corporal punishment. Society also wants us to make sure we coddle them so that they don't get their feelings hurt because things like this will happen. So this boy was probably not coddled correctly. So now he needs to have his ASS BEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is terrible...But I think things like this have always happened. Today's news makes it possible to know about them. I think it may have a positive effect on the public, because it raises awareness and--who knows--maybe prevention.

    But what little monsters!!

Nothing shocks me anymore. A lot of kids of these days are just raised as spoiled brats. A lot of parents defend their kids instead of discipline them.

It's too broad based to say that. Some children are raised well but the neighborhood they live in is too bad to exist in peace. Some children are raised badly & no matter where they live they are a danger to society.
