LIGHT-HEARTED, STOP-BEING-SO-SERIOUS" POLL #79: Here are 10 excuses that workers have used for being late to work - Can you beat these?
Lets take a break from the serious side of things. Can you beat these excuses - something that you actually used - or something humorous you can think of?
Note: I am borrowing a concept of a comment I saw on my SH friend Magical's
poll - with her permission: This is a fun topic and one you can
contribute to whether you are involved in Christianity, Scientology, Atheism, and regardless of your political association, etc. The topic
brings people together to the table commenting about a
topic that anyone can relate to and even joke about. There are so many
polls on SH that divide people, that contribute to hostility, and I just
want to change the tide. Any topic that can unite rather than divide is positive. I hope this helps lighten things up for everyone.
- Employee thought she had won the lottery (she didn't).
- Employee got distracted watching The Today show.
- Employee's angry roommate cut the cord to his phone charger, so it didn't charge and his alarm didn't go off.
- Employee believed his commute time should count toward his work hours.
- Employee claimed a fox stole her car keys.
- Employee's leg was trapped between the subway car and the platform (turned out to be true).
- Employee said he wasn't late, because he had no intention of getting to work before 9:00 a.m. (his start time was 8:00 a.m.)
- Employee was late because of a job interview with another company
- Employee had to take a personal call from the state governor (turned out to be true).
Lets take a break from the serious side of things. Can you beat these excuses - something that you actually used - or something humorous you can think of?
