You don't wrap your arms around just anyone -- you're particular about the people you hug. Hugginess is a personal choice, and you prefer to keep your personal space... personal. Your hugs are reserved for close friends and family. If someone who's barely an acquaintance leans in for a hug, you might be tempted to back away (and you have the right to do that, if you're not in a huggy mood), but those too-huggy types aren't trying to stress you out. If they knew how you feel about constant hugs, they might just wave "hi" in the future (more) -
