cute...tell that to the musical bigots I have encountered for 40 years...play a banjo and you are considered a mental retard that rapes men...play Irish music and you are weird...play folk music and you considered weirder still...actually play an instrument...and you are unemployed

It has always been a pet peeve of mine when people say "This artist would wipe the floor with that artist" or "this artist is NOTHING compared that artist!" It's so ridiculous. What gives you the right to decide which band/artist is inferior to the other? You say a band is musically inferior with less talent - perhaps the person likes "simpler" bands? You say an artist isn't consistent enough - maybe the inconsistency is one of the reasons the person likes them? It's arrogant to assume everyone likes their music for the same reason. You may hate a band because they're too "slow", while others may like the band BECAUSE they're "slow". At the very least, is it really going to kill you to put "I think", "In my opinion", or "I prefer" before your sentence?

I am open to all artists but sometimes it's just silly

you dont have to listen and like the same music everyone else likes just to make them happy.

One person's music is another one's noise

I had a disagreement with administration recently cause I was looking at some art works on my computer,but some looked over my shoulder told them it was looking at something they did not agree too.. I got a butt chewing. Tell that to the 35+ artist on that sight who say something different.Including me.

I try to not judge others based on their tastes, and its eaiser if my friends and I like and dislike the same things. But, it goes past music, and into deeper stuff like sexual orientation and religion. It Would be and a better world if people stopped focousing on what's different, and started focousing on what's the same. (why do I have a feeling thats a quote from a pokemon movie...)

i don't think it's "wrong" to like a type of music but if everyone had a different taste their would be way more genres. Some bands are better to different groups. But judging music is just kinda stupid

I admit, I used to not like certain things because of their connotations but I hadn't really given them a chance. However, just because I have changed my mind and expanded my tastes doesn't mean that those who don't are bad or wrong; everyone is different. Some people are just more open-minded, others are not; some people don't need to like lots of things, others do. Everyone is different and we should celebrate that instead of being mad about it.
