You Can Now Secure Your Ice Cream With This Lock: Brilliant or Bummer?

Ben & Jerry's is brilliant. That is, if you're the one buying the ice cream. The new Ben & Jerry's Euphori-lock is intended to keep ice cream lovers in your house away from your personal stash. With a simple three-digit code system, the pint lock is pretty easy to use. That -- and it only costs $5.50.

The idea was actually initially suggested by a fan -- but the ice cream company totally went for it. And we can see why. No one likes ice cream thieves. And now you can do something about it! Do you think the Ben & Jerry's ice cream pint lock is brilliant... or is it kind of a bummer because you're the one trying to sneak some bites?

I share ice cream with my family. Hence, locks are superfluous :D

Lactose intolerant so don't really care but tend to think the flaw in this is that the thing you're locking is made of cardboard...

If the whole thing was encased in a steal/fiberglass container, it would of been more effective. :P

Than you would probably resort to listening to the pins to find the combination :P

    Take care,

If people have to resort to these types of extremes to stop people from eating their ice cream, they've got bigger problems that a simple lock won't solve. Locks on food? Really? Sounds like someone needs to get their butt kicked a time or two until they learn not to take what's not theirs.

Seriously you'd use a knife just to get some ice cream? Someones got an addiction.... Here's a thought, maybe just spend 4 bucks and buy your own ice cream. Probably cost less than a knife anyways.....

Why wouldn't someone use a knife to get at ice-cream that another felt needed a lock? Sounds ludicrous and promoting of problems to me.

I don't know. I was thinking of puncturing the ice cream container with a knife or something and then cutting the lid off. It would be fairly easy, I would think, to do that.

Great concept, if you have solid containers, such as metal, but a BUMMER for a cardboard one. However, coming from Ben and Jerry's, it gives you an idea of the mindset of Liberals...great joke, and it will make them money from people who buy one for a novelty...
